    Installation & Usage Guide
    • ◎ Preparation:
      • Ensure the surface of the cable or object to be wrapped is clean, dry, free of oil, and sharp burrs. Select the appropriate double-wall heat shrink tubing size based on the object's maximum diameter (the recovered inner diameter should be slightly smaller than the object's diameter).

      ◎ Installation Steps:
      • Slide the double-wall heat shrink tubing over the desired location.
      • Using a heat gun, oven, or other heating tool, apply heat evenly from the middle or one end, moving along the axis and circumference.
      • Observe the tubing shrinking uniformly until it tightly conforms to the object. The inner adhesive should melt and slightly extrude from both ends, forming smooth sealing beads.
      • Allow the tubing to cool and solidify naturally after heating.

      ◎ Precautions:
      • Keep the heat gun moving continuously during heating to avoid localized overheating that could char the outer layer or carbonize the inner adhesive.
      • Ensure the heating temperature reaches the full shrinkage requirement to allow the inner adhesive to melt completely for optimal sealing.
      • Store the product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is a double wall heat shrink tube and how does it differ from a single wall type?
A double wall heat shrink tube consists of two layers: an outer radiation-crosslinked polyolefin layer and an inner hot melt adhesive layer. Unlike single wall tubes that only provide basic insulation and strain relief, the double wall design melts and flows upon heating to fill irregular gaps, delivering superior waterproof, moisture-proof, and airtight sealing—making it ideal for demanding outdoor and marine environments.
What temperature is required to fully shrink the double wall heat shrink tube?
The tubing begins shrinking at approximately 70℃. Full shrinkage and complete melting of the inner hot melt adhesive is typically achieved at 125℃. For best results, use a heat gun or oven to maintain the operating temperature in the range of 125℃–200℃, ensuring even and thorough shrinkage around the entire circumference.
What shrink ratios are available and how do I choose the right size?
The product is available in 2:1, 3:1, and 4:1 shrink ratios, with expanded inner diameters ranging from φ3.2mm to φ125.0mm. To select the correct size, measure the maximum outer diameter of the object to be covered. The expanded inner diameter of the tube should be larger than the object's maximum diameter, while the recovered inner diameter should be slightly smaller to ensure a tight, sealed fit.
Is this double wall heat shrink tube compliant with environmental and safety standards?
Yes. The product fully complies with EU ROHS environmental standards. Hazardous substances including Cadmium (Cd ≤100ppm), Lead (Pb ≤1000ppm), Mercury (Hg ≤1000ppm), Chromium (Cr ≤1000ppm), PBB (≤1000ppm), and PBDE (≤1000ppm) are all within regulated limits, as verified by IEC 62321 test methods.
What materials and industries is this heat shrink tube suitable for?
The double wall heat shrink tube bonds firmly to plastic, rubber, and metal surfaces, making it suitable for a wide range of industries including automotive and marine manufacturing, power and energy engineering, electronics and communications, industrial equipment and piping, as well as consumer products. It is especially effective for waterproof connectors, cable splices, pipe corrosion protection, and wire harness organization.
Can custom sizes or colors be ordered for this product?
Yes. While the standard color is black and the standard shrink ratio is 3:1, the product can be customized in other colors (including clear) and different shrink ratios upon request. Custom sizes beyond the standard specification sheet are also available. Please contact us with your specific requirements for a tailored quote.
